All quotes are given up front and free of charge to perspective clients without pressure to pay a service fee for just showing up. Weekends are by appointment only.
* Please note estimates given over the phone or by email are just that "estimates" it is almost impossible to get the proper size and water/filter conditions until I have seen the aquarium in person. many people are unknowledgeable when it comes to fish tanks or down play the size or the condition of their aquarium to get a better quote up front only to find out later it is much more work than originally stated so please give as accurate information as possible when requesting an estimate.
Service calls start at $60.00, that does not include materials that may be used such as carbon, filter bags, chemicals etc. Service calls outside or my service area will be more depending on location. $60.00 covers the first hour and may be quoted higher for larger aquariums, one hour is the normal time needed for a 60 gallon or less tank to be serviced. Aquariums that have been neglected and are in very poor condition will, of course, cost more. If the service is going to be more than the $60.00 fee you will be notified of the additional cost before any service has been done. Bottom line is I will always confirm the price before I get started and get the OK of any additional cost from the customer up front before any work is performed. Another working rule is $1.00 per gallon as a flat rate for labor, for larger aquariums.
When tent fumigation is needed or re-flooring takes place moving an aquarium can be a daunting task for the average person, fish need to be moved in a timely fashion and returned to the tank before oxygen and temperature changes can affect or kill the fish. This being said, knowing how to move an aquarium safely and quickly is my specialty. Aquarium moving starts at $150.00 and goes up from there depending on size of tank, salt or freshwater and distance tank is being moved. Stairs will also affect the price as well. Older systems with old connectors, tubes and fittings have a tendency to leak once re set-up again. Seams on older glass tanks can go out during moves as well, I completely go over all aquarium systems prior to moving them and in certain situations do require a "leak waiver" before tank can be moved to protect myself from old and aging parts that have a high probability of leaking or failure in the process of moving. I take every precaution necessary to safely move all aquariums but I cannot control the reliability of old worn out filters, tubes or pumps. If this is necessary everything will be put in writing before any work is done. I can also store your fish in my shop rather than move them with your tank during fumigation, sometimes this is an easier and more cost effective alternative to moving the whole system. Every moving situation is different, free quotes are always given in advance to all moves with as much information I can get my mail or phone, photos always help! Final price is to be determined upon my arrival and seeing the aquarium in person, but I’m pretty accurate with photos and measurements.
For service to medical offices and other business that require a service contract or my employer ID# (1099) I have a simple, one page, service agreement filled out and signed by both parties. Agreement simply states how many times a month service is provided and what materials such as carbons, chemicals, filter bags and foods may be included in price. And what the monthly cost would be. Some prefer a cost with all materials included. There is also a one page attachment that can be added for special directions. MY employer ID# will given to all form 1099 clients if requested.
